Enchanted Princess

Monday 22nd December day 6 of our Caribbean Christmas, so far we’ve visited Princess Cays, Grand Turk, St Maarten and St Kitts.

Princess Cays: Princess Cruises have their own resort there and staff are on hand to provide food and drink. The beach is walkable from the ship’s berth and us OK but the sea was very cold. We were shocked to find that the charge for sun beds was 49$! However somehow the attendant overlooked us and we didn’t pay.

Grand Turk: another cheap day as there is a beach within walking distance of the ship’s berth. It’s very strange to lie on the beach so close to the moored ships, in this case there were 2, ours and a smaller vessel. The sea was lovely and warm today. There were no charges for sun beds either.

Day 4 was a sea day and unlike many ships there was no problem getting a sun bed.

St Maarten: the half Dutch and half French island. The day started off rainy but soon cleared up took a taxi to Maho beach otherwise known as the airport beach. Mr C spent some time watching the aircraft fly very low over the beach and astounding me with the scope of his knowledge. The sea was lovely and warm.

St Kitts: another beach day! Took the unusual bus taxi to Cockle shell beach (one of the longest beaches on the island) the driver was a bit erratic to say the least but obviously they do the trip so often that they can navigate the hair pin bends safely. Got a sunbed a beer and tried some Caribbean food. The sea was very calm today. Another bumpy ride back to the port.
